Ok, so I updated to .464 from .411. Now all my 3rd party apps are missing!
Is there any way to bring back the apps? Or at least the names of them? I tried to restore from back-up, but that only brought back my messages etc.

Apps purchased from CB apps may be reloaded from the store. Go into your account to get new registration numbers. Same with BB World I believe. Other vendors may also allow paid apps to be retrieved the same way.

But the bottom line is all will need to be reinstalled. Painful I know, but a necessary part of the BB experience we all love so much.
