    Default Twitter related question

    Hi,

Is there a way to set the Twitter application not to go to the top of the tweets after it has refreshed? So what I want is, for it to load the new tweets and for me to scroll up to read them. This is how the app I was using before behaved on my previous phone (Osfoora).

    Thanks.

I use UberSocial (formerly UberTwitter) and it does exactly that.

Hey, thanks for the recommendation, but I didn't really like the look/interface of UberSocial.

That option is not available in the official Twitter for Blackberry app. I wish they'd add it though.

In twitter for BB, just highlight the most recent tweet and exit with the call end key (formerly the red key). When you go back in, it will still be at the last read tweet and new tweets will load above it. Yes, the app will still be running in the background but that's how uber does it as well.

I've read on a few occasions that Twitter itself is not interested in providing the functionality of reading every tweet like a feed.

The intention is that users only read the latest whenever they open the app, it's a user experience design decision. Since Twitter app is the official Twitter client for Blackberry, the behavior is likely as Twitter wants it to be.

Woke up this morning and my T4BB opened up at the last tweet I read last night. Read through the newest 8 hours worth. It works folks.

    This....
Also, you can accomplish this (if you don't want it running in the back round) by opening the Twitter application and quickly scrolling down to the first tweet in the list prior to the refresh, and when the app does refresh, you will be at that very same tweet still, so you can then scroll upwards to read all of the newest entries.

Twitter has nothing to do with the functionality of the "official" Twitter application for BlackBerry except for licensing. The "official" Twitter application for BlackBerry is developed & controlled by RIM. It is a native RIM application that is further being developed in BlackBerry BetaZone.
