I just bought a 9900
Needed some recommendations on Apps.
Im a university student so i need all the app support i can get
Also any fun apps/game would be nice. Thanks!
Here are some apps from an average user, and they are compatible with BB9900:
1- Pocket Informant.
2-Pucture dial.
3-Weather Trax.
4-What'sapp
5- Facebook & Twitter ( ofcourse).
6-Mobile Data Alerter.
7- AFBBappslock.
8-Digital Menus clock & Status.
BeBuzz is one you don't want to miss. It let's you decide if the new Notifications are worth picking up your Phone. Texts from your Girlfriend light up Pink(!?) while E-mails from work light up White and for your best Friends you're using a Blue LED.
So if you're really busy you only pick up your phone when the Notification LED is Pink (for example).
QuickLaunch comes in Pretty handing switching from App to App.
Most useful apps for 9900 with os 7.1 (best apps for Blackberry 9810 Torch 2): FACELOCK ajani infotech (TO stop accidentally touching screen buttons While on Call) Documents to Go (came with my phone but VERY useful for opening every kind of doc) SugarSync app (5 gig on the cloud for free...had to do it)-- Setup from PC or Mac first ExtraKeys (for three extra external app launch keys) Quickpull (for those frequent battery pulls without pulling the battery) Scanlife (for scanning most any barcode) Garmin mobile ('cause I need turn by turn directions) Fixmo tools (I use the wifi connection to PC most but has many utilities) Slide Lock by Bulbera(stops accidental dialing on my blackberry touch screen) Advanced OS and led (I like the color LED options)
BeWeather or Berry Weather (I like a pretty weather display -- works in conjunction with the Quickweather app iNEW7 themeapp world is case sensitive so "iNEW7" by Walker (better looking and faster than stock os 7 theme)
... Quickpull (for those frequent battery pulls without pulling the battery)
...
you can actually do a battery pull without installing any thirdparty app or pulling out your battery. Just press Alt+right Shift + Del and you're all done
I dont play any games!
My current apps are
USED THROUGHOUT THE DAY
BBM
Twitter
Facebook
WhatsApp
USED WHEN NEEDED
Meterberry
Foursquare
Poynt
Easydial - A great app, uses a touch pad on the screen
tagWriter - for writing to, and reading NFC tags
Tunein Radio Pro - great for local, national and international radio. Used on wifi to save data
Google maps
Vlingo Pro
Telmap Navigator
BB Protect
These should be built into os, show calendar on lock screen and automatically download images and auto more on email - would change phone without these 2!
Dropbox
Tapatalk
Twitter
I didn't realise app world was case sensitive
Oh and of course the crackberry app store app as buying from there you pay $ price and in UK blackberry do a 1-1 conversion so app world is Really Expensive!
i.e email++ is $4, or 4 for us in the UK, which is $6.2 WHY?
Because they can. Btw I was one of the fortunate ones to snap up Email++ for free when the developer offered X amount after Usain Bolt won.
Excellent app.
Tapatalk
Advance OS & LED
Shorten URL Pro
Screen grabber (its connected to most social sites, bbm etc)
NFC Shortcuts & Shortcutme, if you have an NFC BB
If you're in the UK, 0800 wizard & 0845 app.
Also if you're keen on others having your info be sure not to miss Gmail.

That's a soft reboot and not a battery pull (hard reboot).
