I have been using an app called SocialScope for a while. It actually combines facebook, multiple twitter accounts, foursquare, and flickr all in one easy to use app. The downside, you will have to sign up and wait for an invite. I have heard that they are sending out more invites soon, so now may be a good time to check it out!

Glad I am not the only one that has this problem. Seems worse since upgrading to BB 5.0. I'm having to do a batt pull every couple of hours. It really sucks. Wish RIM would so something to fix this.
Ok, so there are more people who know about this. Good. I wish if this crackberry admin or someone from this site who might be associated with RIM notifies them.
The problem is not because of the upgrade to 5.0. The version 1.8.x of FB is the core problem. Personally, I notice a loss of 500KB to 1 MB each time I login do some operations and log out. Clearly, the app doesn't clean things well.
I think the best choice at this point is to use the browser rather than using any app including third party apps (as there is no guarantee on leaks there too). Reason to post this was to find if there exists an app that can serve as an alternative and is popular enough to have been tried and tested by the users.

I have been using this app as well. It's really quite well done, and getting better with each update.
They say they're still in Beta so, like shpadoinkle said, you have to request an invite, but once you get it this app is a nice replacement for the facebook app. It can't do everything the FB app could do, but with each update it gets closer to it. (Fave part is not having to refresh friends list every other day)
