    So heres what happened...

I pulled out my battery for a reboot, and when my phone turns back on, my texting app is gone. It's usually right next to the "Messages" app, and the "Contacts" app on the main display/menu.

Any idea how to get it back? I know people are texting me as well, because I have the little new message on the top of my screen.

NOTE: when i turn my phone on, i get this message "Uncaught exception: index 8 >= 8"

You should be able to hold down the menu/blackberry key and scroll to the messages icon. Try that and see if it pops up.

    Uncaught exemptions are OS errors.

Which version of OS are you on? You most likely need to update.

menu>options>about. This will tell you your OS version. IT shoudl say 5.0.0.xx

If it is less than 5.0.0.1030, update your OS and that should help your issues.

Follow the thread at the top of the forum on how to download and install your new OS. Follow this thread:

    http://www.crackberry.com/blackberry...ting-system-os

for the easiest way to do the upgrade using apploader. Follow all instructions to the letter and you will be fine!

With the uncaught exception error i agree regarding the software reload or the upgrade if available but if this is the pre-installed app for sms on Verizon, have you tried to re-send the service books? That should restore it.
