Download Blackberry Desktop Manager. I suggest using the new 6.0 version. It's easy to use will set up most of the settings, if not all of them for you.

Did you either purchase the tethering plan provided by AT&T or the tethering app?

Tethering is only free with T-Mobile plans.

You might want to contact AT&T and see what their policy on tethering is. All I know is it's not free.

With the tether app, it tricks your provider into thinking the data is just regular BB activities.

Use with caution, as you can still encounter fees.

QFT. This, UMA & tmo's CSRs are why I stuck with T-Mobile when my contract came up for renewal.
