[Speculation] Skype
Bad luck Guys...
I got something to tell to all bb addicts..... one insider briefed me about the possible issue with Skype.... and honestly it creates sense to me.... her is the details...
kevin please throw some light on this.
There was a mistake on behalf of rim co-CEO in the past which is now turning out to be a big problem........ VERIZON has already acquired rights from RIM to enable for their subscribers.
They are legally bounded now and even skype has a tie up about it with RIM...... so its not at all possible to skype to come with a app for bb apart from verizon only......
Skype and RIM and VERIZON acquired rights from RIM for 5 years to make it only VERIZON run devices only........ and guys dont forget skype runs on verizon network......
m feeling bad abt the future of RIM for taking such stupid decisions.. just to show how much carier friendly they are....

Insider information... this thing makes sense to me since VERIZON already has Skype for bb for more than 2 yrs........

Deals with the devil. I know these carriers want to have something the others don't so maybe someone would choose them over another. I hate that they do this with apps and phones. Why don't they try great service and cheaper pricing instead of if you want this phone or app you have to buy from us or forget it.

Although your "insider information" is interesting, it does seem to contradict what Alec Saunders has been giving the impression of.
Besides, how would a contract for a mobile phone affect a tablet ?

Dont know either RIM has partnered with VERIZON for full acess or else.. but one thing is sure... Bad decisions sometimes ruin the company.... huh thank god these 2 CEO are gone.... Dont know hw many bad desions they made it though which is not been published before.... - 02-27-2012, 03:24 PM #7
Who needs Skype if you haven't got a front facing camera? We need Viber!!!!! (viber.com)
And yes it is available for BBs that are running on Verizon network.
