Does anyone here use it ? Can I use it as an alternative to my carrier ? As in can I call numbers through the skyp program through my blackberry ? I wanna purchase this program but I don't know enough about it, but if I can call another country for a really cheap rate with my blackberry then I'm on board, but only if the quality is good.

Skype is a great program. Two things you will need to use it (besides the actual program). A high speed connection, or wifi (which the 8830 doesn't have).
The calls are less expensive, but if you are on sprint, you can make International calls for very inexpensive. It cost $4.00 a month. I use it and the cost saving is great. Quality is better than skype.
My opinion is skype is far better to use from your laptop or computer.
