I have heard of different types of apps that will send you an email/text to a friend if someone steals your phone.

    Which one do you recommend?

Why would you want to know what you already know? It's gone, someone stole it and now your out!

There are apps that'll let you remote wipe the device instead

I guess I misunderstood. I thought it would text/ email a preset up email/phone the sim card number that was now using your phone. That information would then be turned over to the cops.

What app were you talking about?

SmrtGuard is the app for you. Search is your friend.

    Check out https://www.smrtguard.com/

It might not do what you are asking, but it does a whole lot of other things... including tracking through your GPS, remote listening, sending out audible sounds even on silent mode so you can find it, tracking, and backing up your personal data.

I suggest Roblock if you don't like SmrtGuard's subscription fees.

You pay a one-time fee for Roblock. It has remote wipe, GPS tracking, and can send text/email to your chosen friend when your device is stolen or someone puts an unauthorized SIM card into your device.
