Um, so I just got this BB last week. Overall, I like it so far except for the volume issue. I tried to adjust the volume of the ringer, but to no avail. I understand there are some 3rd party applications I can download to enhance the volume, but I'm not sure of what's out there and which is considered to be good. Any suggestions?
Any number of windows based Audio editors can increase the volume of an MP3 file. Audacity: Free Audio Editor and Recorder Is an excellent free Audio editing tool. I save MP3 ringtone files at 64kbps mono to keep the files smaller. Depending on the file you have to begin with, you may need to increase the volume 50-60% to get it loud enough for the 8830.
