    Default QuickWeather Updated to 1.2! Now available for all OS 5.0/6.0 devices! New Features!

    QuickWeather has been updated to version 1.2

    * Available for OS 5 and OS 6 devices.

    QuickWeather will display your current weather conditions anywhere on your homescreen.

    New Features:
    * Location Aware setting
    [Cell Tower Location or GPS Location]
    Enable this feature to have QW automatically determine your current location. GSM Devices will use cell tower location if available. If GSM cell tower information is not available or you have a non GSM device (ex: CDMA) QW will use GPS location if GPS service on your device is enabled.

    * Temperature 'Feels Like' display
    (heat index / wind chill factor value)

    * New Location ID method
    You can now enter your City Name, or Zip Code, province, municipality etc to set your location.
    No more going to the Yahoo Weather page!!
    Example: 'Tokyo' or 'New York, NY' or 'London, England or '92129' etc;

    * Some minor bug fixes

    Old Features:
    * Displays current temperature and hi/lo forecast
    * Choose update frequency
    * Change background color
    * Change text color
    * Set transparency level
    * Set on-screen location
    * Display weather conditions or city name
    * Celsius or Fahrenheit
    * 2 layout styles
    * Also includes 5 day forecast display (not a widget but a popup window) which displays temperature forecast, current temperature, current humidity level, wind speed and sunrise / sunset times

    Unlike other weather apps, QuickWeather does not work by changing your wallpaper. QW has a very small footprint, is not active when the backlight is off or your device is in bedtime mode and has no lag or battery drain effects on your device. A Quick and Simple glance at your weather!

    If you have any issues with this release I recommend uninstalling the previous release and reentering your Location ID as it uses a different method now which 'might' interfere with last version's data. I say might... Haven't seen an issue yet... just saying...

    Price: $1.99

    Any thoughts on making it so we can add our own custom weather sets?

    hmm... i don't know. cant figure that out yet. this app is not like most other apps. it works by some 'magic' so getting it to run on startup is not trivial.

    This update is great, thanks! Running smoothly on my Torch.

    For a future update, is it possible to increase the customization of the text? For example, have each field optional and the user can enable/disable at their will (temperature, hi/lo, current condition, feels like, wind speed, ceiling, humidity, sunrise/sunset, barometer, UV Index, UV Description, etc... all those fancy weather items that show in the yahoo forecast)

    Don't normally use a weather app, but going to give this a go seeing as it's only a couple of quid

    Update : Not even a couple of quid . Seems pretty good, thanks

    Another idea... is it possible for it to auto-update the data in the background? I know one of the selling points is that it goes away and consumes no power when not needed, but if I unlock my phone just to quickly view the temperature, I need to wait 20 seconds for it to update to make sure I'm seeing the most recent data. Even just having this as an option would be great

    currently if your phone is off or in sleep mode or backlight has been off and you wake your phone up it will take anywhere from 0 to 60 seconds to get the weather. there is a button on top of the options page to update the weather now. i could add a menu item that says update now but that would be the same number of clicks as the options page. also if you open and close the options page it will update immediately.

    I can't add any clickable buttons on the weather display at this point due to the way it works.

    In BeWeather, the user is able to change the icon set you see.. I don't know the exacts of but BA would be the man to talk to on the icon sets. He makes his own.

    Very happy with this app. Best weather app I've tried. The fact you don't need a theme with a weather slot makes it even better

    Only slight gripe is when going into a different screen from my homescreen, the weather icon will hover there for about half a second before disappearing. Nothing major, and something that could probably easily be fixed in the next update.

    Is this app also shows "Feels like" condition? If not I won't buy this because in Canada 4C can feels like -1C with the wind.

    I don't have this problem, both are in celsius for me. The feels like temp is a little dubious sometimes but that's not the apps fault. Maybe try a battery pull?

    Several battery pulls and a couple of re-downloads and all I get is an exception error "1.0". It looked promising

    Sweeeet app! I gained 1MB by replacing BerryWeather with this. It's perfect for chronic theme changers. Great job, Cheetah!
