Default QuickPull5 won't perform scheduled reboot on Style 9670 if flipped closed

I downloaded QuickPull5 to have it perform overnight reboots so I have all released memory from the browser memory hogging problems.

Unfortunately, if the phone is flipped closed, the method where it pulls up a dialog box and uses some sort of keystroke to hunt for the ok doesn't work because the keypad is disabled when flipped closed.

I found some similar issues that are clues to why it doesn't seem to work with the blackberry style 9670

    I posted this issue on Steelthorn's feed getsatisfaction.com/steelthorn/topics/quickpull5_doesnt_work_with_blackberry_style_9670_ if_flipped_closed

Blackberry Style 9670 – QuickPull v5 won’t reboot on scheduled overnight if it is flipped closed. Has a dialog window that pops up saying a reboot is necessary.

I have a new BB Style 9670 (upgraded from a Curve 8330) and I went out to BB App World and got the latest version of Quickpull, which is v5. I don’t have a twitter account, nor do I want to set one up at this time, so I skipped that step.
Well, I scheduled my Quickpull to run at 3am, but it didn’t run because my phone was flipped shut. I did some browsing and it seems I need to go into the Option Settings to allow it to run when flipped shut.
But, my problem is when I try to go there Quickpull is asking for my device password even though I don’t have one. I can’t get past that screen.
I tried creating a device password and entering that, but it didn’t work (I subsequently removed the device password).
Anyone have a solution for this?
Like the user above, I also cannot change options at all because of the request for a password that does not exist.
    Thanks for any assistance.

Also found I'm not the only one with this issue that's posted here:

Mine also hangs up with an attempt to download quickpull rebooter even though I already have the app and have set all permissions properly.

A little disappointed that neither of the previous have been addressed in 10 months, so I'm a bit skeptical that my comment will make much of a difference.

I had a similar experience with Quickpull on my 8230 Flip. When the phone was closed the scheduled reboot wouldn't work so I tried A+ Reset, it has never failed to automatically reboot the phone at the scheduled time I set in over a year. Works every time with the flip closed, may be worth a try for the 9670. It's well worth the $3.00 after the 7 day trial to me. A plus Reset Free - BlackBerry App World
