It works me in .328. I previously attempted this in .323 after the quick launch update came out but was not having any luck with the reset. After installing everything from scratch on .328 it seems to work.

Not working here. Running 5.0.0.328 w/ QuickLaunch 2.15.0. All QuickLaunch permissions are set to allow. I don't know if any internal or global permissions need to be adjusted. When I choose "Reset Device" I get a confirmation box. After click "Yes" I get the working / thinking icon (the little clock) for 3 or 4 seconds. The icon then disappears (the confirmation box still showing) and then 6 or 7 seconds later, the confirmation box disappears and it drops me back to whatever app was running when I opened the QuickLaunch menu.
I've seen the tips about using Google Quick Search but I think that the ##000000 trick is easier. It would be nice, however, to have QuickLaunch working as intended. Any additional information is appreciated.
Update: I just received email from NikkiSoft stating this is a known issue and the Reset and Reset2 applications were installed by QuickLaunch. I am not sure why there are two reset applications and why they aren't signed by NikkiSoft.

Ok, I noticed today that if I select Reset Device and then select ReBoot Later, I cannot get this function to work later. I either have to do a battery pull or use the key sequence to reboot my Bold 9700. I am running the default OS 5 for AT&T.
At first I thought it might be a bug in the 3rd party theme I am using.
Also, when I go to Applications to view the Permissions, I can see:
