I'm using Quicklaunch, the latest version released this week. Can't seem to add messenger applications like BBM, AIM, Google Talk, or Windows LIVE Messenger.
They don't show up in the application list.

You could try opening the app you need to add, and then opening Quicklaunch and adding it to the menu. I only have Google Talk and BBM and they are both in the application list.
