I am a nurse and will be getting my first smart phone, a blackberry Bold 9650 and wish to download some medical resources onto it for reference. My question is which ones are the most useful? I figured this forum would be an excellent place to find out what others in the field use the most and find the most user friendly. Thank you in advance, zack

As a medic I use Epocrates. Handy for when a patient hands you a pill box with no idea what they're taking. It has a Pill ID tool in there.
    I also use medscape occasionally.

Skyscape has a nice group of apps like Davis Drug Guide and Tabers. Medical apps can be kind of expensive. Epocrates and Medscape are two that offer free basic drug guides.

Thank you P233 and tgeekb. I noticed some of them were up there in cost, thus my question. I don't have a problem spending some $$ if the app is worth it, but would hate to spend $50 only to find out it wasn't worth the cost.

Your welcome zack. Do some research before you spend a lot of $ almost everything that costs will have a 1 week trial so if you don't like it you can try something else.

I'm also a nurse, and I use Nursing Central by Unbound Medicine. It has Davis' Drug Guide, Davis' Lab and Diagnostic Tests, Diseases and Disorders, Medline journals, and Taber's. You can also get an app by Unbound Medicine that has all of the NANDA diagnoses.
