I was wondering how this works. Does the app need to be active all the time or can it work even when we exit the application?

I would recommend you browse some of the threads in this forum regarding memory boosting apps.
I believe it does run in the background, but it probably uses more memory by running than it will free up. It will also drain your battery faster.

Hey there THanks for replying. Indeed you are right. Since there is memory leak and i got the app some time ago, well just loving it. lol

Anyway, I did a quick search on the forum but couldn't find the answer specifically answering my question. Therefore, got to try ask you guys who are pros about it!
