Hello, I am new to this whole BB thing and i am not signed up for mobile internet yet. would i be charged by my provider (tmobile) if i add any applications to my BB, I do have wifi on my BB curve 8320

if you download it ota (over the air), yes. if you download it through desktop manager, i do not believe you will be.
lots of (fun!) apps run on data, i definitely recommend you get that if you're interested
