- I have noticed over the past few months, that while I have not been installing new apps (only upgrading existing ones) that my memory available for app installs has been slowly shrinking. It seems that when I upgrade an app, the available memory decreases by the size of the upgrade - as if the previous version of the app remains in memory, but cannot be deleted. If I attempt to delete the app after an upgrade, only the memory from the most recent upgrade is freed up, not previous versions of the app. If I continue upgrading apps this way, I will soon run out of space for new apps or upgrades.
1) Is this a common issue?
2) Can the old versions of apps be removed and the memory freed up?
note: all of this is taking place in app world.
