Private Beta invitation for Fake Call Application!
Dear All,
While the Beta of Battery Saver and Secure Photo are on the verge of completion, we are ready with a new Fake Call application.
Fake Call is a fully customizable app to simulate fake calls on your BlackBerry. This can be very useful at times, for ex, when you want to get out of a boring meeting, or just want to surprise your friend with a call from a celebrity!
To make this application more realistic, it lets you customize the caller's name and number to anyone you choose. You can even schedule a quick fake call using Quick Call button in the application or simply by locking/unlocking the device twice within three seconds without the need of going through long procedure of going to the app.
We want to test run this app for different device types and OSes. In case you are interested in trying a pre-release app, please post below your device model and full OS version so that we can get the ball rolling. I think we will start with a small group (maybe the first 15 to reply) for private beta.
Screen shots attached for an idea.
Best Regards,

Hi All,
Thank you for your interest in beta. I have send the beta cut to few members. Please check your PM and let me know about any issues, suggestions, feedbacks on the forums itself.
Also, a lot of the people who are beta testing our app have OS 5.0 . If you have any friends using OS 4.7 or any other OS, please invite them to this thread.
Thanks,

Lol I've used this twice already. Just remember to edit your profile so it rings like your phone. I got busted the first time because it came in as a message type tone. One thing I can't figure out is no matter who I set the caller to be it comes in as home and an 888 number. No big deal, I don't hold the phone up to show who is calling, allthough that could be fun too. Is there a way you guys could put a symbol up in the message bar for a visual to know that there was a call set?

Hey Ani,
It works! I really like the repeat call feature. You can show your chatty friends that your MOM is calling, and out of respect, you just ignore it. When the next call comes in, you can say... "Hey, I gotta take this call". I also like the ability to add multiple callers and numbers to the lists to be used for different occasions. The confirmation call "buzz" is a nice addition as well.
Problem: I have not been able to schedule a quick call via my lock button. I lock/unlock 2 times in under 3 seconds, but never get the confirmation buzz, and it never schedules out to work. Maybe a tweak for my OS?
Requests: I would like the ability to playback a pre-recorded voicenote when the call is anwered inside to give it authenticity. Using it outside is no problem due to ambient noise.
I would like to see the quick call command integrated in the system menu as well.
I also think a small red blinking dot would be good to add in the notifications area to remind you that ther is a pending fake call.
The UI need some spelling, text formating and numerical formating work. Some of the the text overlaps, and the date in the scheduled list should read mm/dd/yy. The "M" is missing from manage. All this is small cosmetic work.
For some reason I cannot add all of my screenshots via my BB. Oh well, can do later.
I am still testing it, and will provide more feedback later. This one is a winner!

Ani,
If you still need a tester for the Storm 2 count me in and you can PM me. - 07-16-2010, 10:30 AM #25
I'm also having the lock unlock issue. Though it seems when I push the lock button on top of the phone it just puts it into stand by. Guess it is an os issue. Thought I read somewhere that they took it out
