Is anyone with a Curve 8330 having problems getting Poynt Beta to connect to your internal GPS. I've tried and tried and cannot connect. I checked the application permisions and the GPS connection is allowed. I don't know what it could be. Any suggetions?
I've had that problem and when it happens I just go to the GPS under options and refresh GPS. Kind of a pain but it works after that.
How do you refresh the GPS? Is this under the Poynt options or actual phone options? I've gone to both and cannot refresh. Maybe it's just not compatible with the sCurve 8330.

Try using it outdoors as sometimes the GPS wont work well indoors. Also Poynt takes a little bit of time to catch your location give it a few minutes and the little red circle should turn green.
No Refresh option? Hmm must be an 8330 thing. Check and see if any other 8330 users are having the same issue. Try outdoors though that may fix it. Do you use your GPS for anything else? Is it working? I'm using an 8310 and works great for me.
Well man, it freakinggg worked. It worked outdoors. All my other GPS apps could find my location here indoors except Poynt. At least it worked outdoors. Thanks for your help NDO.
Excellent! Glad I could help, Some GPS programs pick it up alot quicker and easier than others. I have some apps that wont work inside and some will flawlessly. I guess its a programming thing. I dont know, glad it works now though. Your welcome

Keep in mind VZW based 8330s have a crippled GPS, so they won't work properly with Poynt, VZW only allows their GPS to work with their navigation services and Blackberry Maps. Not sure about Alltel 8330s since Alltel is now owned by VZW.
