I just got the Curve 8530 for Verizon. I've been tracking down all of the apps I loved on my old Curve, but I can't find Poynt. It's not showing up in Blackberry App World. I went to Poynt's website , entered my email address to have the app setup sent to me, and it never came.
I'm assuming this means the app is not available for this model of the Curve, but I'm hoping someone here knows more than me about it...

Try going to Poynt download for BlackBerry in the browser.

Try the link above--Poynt works fine on the 8530. You won't be able to use GPS though.
