I was notified by Pandora support today that the latest version of Pandora ver 1.1.2 fixes the pause issue those of us using 5.0 have experienced.

Go to Pandora Radio - Listen to Free Internet Radio, Find New Music on your phone to get the latest version of the app.

On a side note the customer service from Pandora has been terrific!
