Is there Opera Mini for Bold 9700?
I downloaded from m.opera.com right from my phone.
Apparently, it's sort of generic version which is not perfectly complatible with the phone. I couldn't use BB button and back button.
When I press some numberical button, the button I press appears on the screen.

I sort of remember there were few topics on Opera for Bold 9700.
but I couldn't find the usable one.

I installed both 4.2 and 4.7 and found out that 4.7 is more optimized to work with thw 9700. 4.2 fonts and menu are tiny compared to 4.7 you might want to copmpare for yourself.

If you go to the PC download for the Bold you will have a choice of 4.2, 4.3 and 4.7. I installed all three and the 4.7 firmware for the Bold 9000 works the best on the 9700. There is no official support on OM for the 9700 but as we seen there are many programs made for the 9000 that are compatible for the 9700.

Opera 4 doesn't work with OS 5, which you have on your 9700. You should download opera 5, which is still in beta version, but it is working fine,

    good luck

I'm using OM 5 beta 2 on os .405 and it seems to run well. I'm posting from it now. I just can't figure how to change the "tabs" offered on the home page. Anyone have a suggestion?

Yes you have no problem but if you install 4.7 you'll notice a big improvement, mostly in the options menu and bookmarks.

opera is significantly faster than the stock browser, but does anyone else notice how slow the mouse lag is compared to the regular browser?

It is that mouse lag that kills me at the moment with Opera.

If it were smoother, it'd be great.

For those still trying to install opera mini 5 beta 2 (platform version 4.3 not 4.7, which is all together different than the old opera mini 4.x) on a 9700 here is an ota link from opera. The problem that everyone is having is that when you go to opera via your 9700, opera recognizes it as a touch screen, and defaults the ota link on the page to opera 5 beta 2 platform version 4.7. PLatform version 4.3 is for non-touchscreen blackberrys. So all you have to do is copy the link they give you, paste it into your native browser, but before you hit enter, change the last # in the url from a 7 to a 3. Better yet, I will paste it below. How easy is that? If you do a search in the forums for opera 5 , you will see many posts describing this same process.

Just a friendly helpful hint: do a quick search of the forums before you create a new post. Most often, someone has already asked the same question and a solution provided if one is possible. You will get your resolution much faster, and we can cut down on the clutter in the forums.

My phone is originally with T-Mobile but is now unlocked.
I've been trying to Install opera mini browser to my phone using my computer and blackberry desktop manager but to no avail.

I cannot download it straight through the phone because i cannot access the old tmobile web browser anymore.
when i download it I simply get the zip files.
