So time for an update to the most popular flashlight application for BlackBerry. FlashOn 2.0 has the most feature sof any flashlight application out there, and best of all it's free!

Because Im taking advantage of new APIs OS 5.0 or 6.0 is required.

    Features:
    • Front LED light (blue/white/orange/green/off)
    • Camera LED
    • Choose screen colour or turn the screen off
    • Customizable timer for light or never turn off
    • Countdown timer of time remaining

    New build Oct 9th
Added View Finder mode. If you cant get the camera light to come on enable this in options

Note: if you do have the screen set to turn off to get back into options just click a button to turn the screen back on.

    Screens:

Nice work Shao - it looks good to me. Only issue maybe is when you go to the options page and try to leave it you can't go back to the flashlight it just closes the app. I don't think that's necessarily a problem or anything though - just seemed a little weird.

Thanks again this is one of my favorite apps!

    Greetings

I downloaded the BETA 2.02 and it seems to work, however, I was hoping it would have an option to activate the camera flash LED ?

Your one photo shows that being possible, yet no options appear to support this?

    Cheers

I just tested on my Bold 9700 running 5.0.0.862 and it works fine. So Im not sure what it could be. When you go into your video camera normally are you able to toggle the light on with the space key?

Indeed I can. Does the video light need to be enabled all the time by default for this flashlight to work? I keep mine disabled unless required.

    Cheers

Nope FlashOn will enable it regardless of your setting.

Let me know if there is anything else you'd like me to check / try, otherwise I will chalk it up to my older OS. Ahwell.

    Working good Shao
One suggestion I have is that when you press end it exits; not a problem for me, but some people might not know how to reopen it. I'd personally like a "are you sure you want to exit?" popup as well. No a big deal though
This is probably the best flashlight app out there, and for free? Thanks for the good work/app.

I'm using it on my 9650 running .699, it worked flawlessly at first but now the light shuts off almost immediately on the first try, works fine on the second try.
I'm gonna try uninstalling and reinstalling later.

Is it possible to disable some hardware buttons while the light is on? I often find myself handing my phone, with the light on, to someone for them to use - and they seem to always hit some buttons and manage to turn it off. It's not a big deal but maybe that could be prevented.

Also, maybe you could make the "Turn off after" setting customizable - I'm not sure I'd ever use it but there's a big disparity between 5 minutes and never - maybe just an adjustable number input like you'd see in the native clock app when settings the alarm or something. Just a thought.

    Great work - thank you.
