If your old apps are compatible with OS7, then you should be able to transfer them over to your 9900.

Google Maps isn't in App World, and it is free. Just go to m.google.com/maps from your BB browser and download it from there.

Most developers will get around to updating their apps for OS7 eventually. The one thing you want to hang onto is your license/product keys. I had BerryWeather on my 9650 that I paid for and when I went to the 9930 I simply had to download the OS7 version and enter my license key that I bought way back when. If you paid for apps that aren't yet compatible with OS7 shoot the developer an email and ask about any time frame.
