Hello everybody,
We can see around few threads about the google maps download possibility disappearing from the google site, or the voice app not being available.
On the m.google.com site you can choose android, or iphone. When choosing the option 'Not on Android?', it is linked to 'find an Android device for you'.

Does it mean that Google stopped support for Blackberry?
If yes: can this mean that it is due to the approaching BB10 release, as being competitive to Android devices?

I know the apps are working: I am using Maps quite frequently.
I also have my .cods backups, so it is not as much concern to get the app. Just the thing is: is there something more in this?

Yes, OK. But I am quite sure that two months ago while upgrading my friend's 9790 I got the Google maps from google site, and not from my 9900 backup.
Now it is gone, and Google is advising to get Android device.
So actually I believe we can expect no google apps for new platform next year. And actually my post was kind of invitation to the statement of BB10 being a competition to Android.
I just can't see the reasoning in such Google behavior.
1) For sure lack of google maps for BB10 will not discourage anyone from getting new BB10 device.
2) iPhone sure is the competition for Android, and google maps are available for iPhones.

The reason behind this is that they're not interested in RIM products and it is fashionable nowadays to be against RIM.
Yahoo does the same.

And this is my fear for BB10. If companies like Google don't get back on board, it will be the beginning of the end. People want apps and when they can't get them will move on to greener pastures.

I guess it would mean no Google Maps app for BB10. I know BB10 will have BB Maps powered by TomTom, but I only use Google Maps on my 9930 and I pretty much use Google Maps just for transit information and directions. No other mapping tools has that. I guess I could port the Android Google Maps app on BB10. Hopefully it works ok, but how many non-informed BB10 users looking for Google Maps know about sideloading?
