No "check in" option on Facebook Places in Facebook 1.9.0.20? I can click on the Places tab, but all I get is a list of my friends locations. There is no option to "check in." How do I use Places on the new Facebook app?
Press the MENU key and then select OPTIONS and go to the bottom and click on the FACEBOOK PLACES square and you can be as obnoxious as all of your FB friends.
I figured out how to fix it! You have to make sure that your GPS is turned on. Then you may have to uninstall and reinstall Facebook. It should work then!
I also have done a battery pull and cannot enable the square. Yes my GPS is enabled and was before I upgraded to the 1.9 2.0 version. Is there a min BB software requirement or soemthing i'm missing? I'm running v4.5.0.175

Probably a stupid question, But how do I ensure that my GPS is turned on?? Does it just need to be enabled??
Got a 8520 and also having the same problem. My GPS is turned ON. It does not give me an option to "Check In". All it shows are My Friends Check Ins. Anyone figured out how to make it work?

So when you go to Places in the app and you see the greyed out "check-in" option, when you scroll up to it, nothing happens? It should take you to a list of places near you to check-in or create your own place. Mine does. I have a BB Bold 9000 running .822 if that makes a difference.
