Epic Applications is back, and we are wrapping up development on a longtime customer request: the ability to read BBM messages without sending a read receipt. What this means is you can read your messages and your friends will see a D (for delivered) and not an R (for received)! If you want to reply or let them know you read it, menu > Launch BBM gets you right into BBM!

Peep It requires OS5.0 and above, as well as BBM5.0 or above. You must enable BBM 'Save Chat History'. Please be sure to include your phone type, BBM version and OS version with any posts.

If you encounter any errors, please give clear, numbered steps for how to do it again and we will quickly investigate. Please email any logs or screenshots of issues to us at contact@epicapplications.com and be sure to include your Crackberry screen name.

Kinda sad that people want this.

There are at least three scenarios where this is useful for me. Both almost the same. There are times when I only have time to look at a message without replying.

1) I might not want the sender to mistakenly think I'm ignoring them because I didn't reply when I read it.

2) I may want to reply later, when I have more time.

3) I may want to wait till I've had time to research something before I reply.

The last two assume that Peep It, by not triggering the read flag, will leave the asterisk notification in place. We'll find out.

Why would you want to deal with deleting chats and all that when one click could get you an ordered list of all your BBM convos leaving the real BBM app untouched?

In a Torch 9800 OS 6.0.2391 with BBM 6.1.0.49 works great.

Only thing, the icons of the nicknames of BBM contacts doesn't appear, nor the flags.

OS7.1 is known to be a buggy release overall, so I would recommend trying a more stable OS unfortunately...

Why? Some people do not understand when you are busy and can't reply right away. Ever been in a failing relationship? That little R can cause heaps of trouble!

BTW installed on my 9810 running 7.1.0.205 and got "Uncaught Exception...". Will delete and reinstall to see if that works.

If you are getting an error, try to reboot first. If that doesn't work, please send me your event logs so we can fix the problem.
