Thanks! It seems faster but I don't like the fact that when I reboot it starts automatically, even though I have that option unchecked.

Yeah, that is something that I've seen some people post as a complaint on the Beejive forums. Hopefully they'll get it fixed in the next build.

According to their forums:

This release is mainly an "under the hood" update of BeejiveIM, revolving around moving the app from a generic midlet to a RIM specific rimlet. The app should be a little lighter and faster.

Updates & Bug fixes in this release:
- Notifications & Alerts updated.
- Chat scrolling updated.
- Global Pop-ups fixed.
- various other bug fixes & enhancements

New features from current production version:
- added a preference to launch BeejiveIM when the device starts up.
- added ability to send image / file from camera app.

This beta is not supported on devices with OS's below 4.2.1.
