I downloaded a trial version of this software and was interested in buying it today, but I can't figure out how to get it to work. I create my rule but how does the rule run? I rebooted the phone, but the Mail Rule Manager rules don't appear to be working. Am I misunderstanding the purpose of the app? I ran a very simple rule of taking a specific sender and applying the action of "marking it read" and nothing happened. Also, is there is a way to send maling list emails to a folder? I have currently over 115 unread messasges on my BB, which mostly mailing list stuff, which means they come in the same frequency intervals - daily, weekly, etc. I was looking to your app to help sort that stuff, so I don't lose sight of the occasional important email. But as it be, I can't even figure out how to run a simple rule. Please advise. Thanks.02-12-10 11:05 PMLike 0 - Is it currently possible to apply filters to outgoing mail or just incoming? If currently not possible might this be added in the future?
Thanks.

When a rule is enabled, it will apply for all emails that arrive while it is active. Please note, it will not apply for those emails that are already there on your device even before the rule was created. So after you created your "Rule for Sender A" any mails that now arrive from sender A will be marked as Read. The old emails that are already there on your device is not touched .
On the same lines as above, you can create a filter for your mailing list. You need to see what is the thing that is common in all their emails? Are all the mails sent from same email id? Or do they have the same subject, or atleast some words are same in the subject. After you create the filter, you can set your action. Again, the rules come into effect after you create them - they cannot work unless they are first created. After you create and activate the rule, any mails from the mailing list will be handled according to the rule.

Thats a nice suggestion. The current version has rules for incoming mails.. However I am not sure why / what kind of rules would anyone want to create for outgoing mails? The idea is good, I will definitely think about it.. If you have some examples on how it could be used by users, please suggest - that will help us..

Loving this app so far!! Would like to offer a suggestion for an added feature. Is it possible to add one more option when you set an action for a rule. Would like to see a "no audible alerts" option. When I set up a rule to mark a certain email as "marked as read"..... I would also like to see the option to set a "no audible alert". Thank you.03-23-10 03:19 PMLike 0
