Meterberry & battery life
Wondering about my battery life I installed meterberry and I would like to compare it with other users.
After a few hours and with light usage I am getting that my battery is going 5% down every hour. This means I have about 20 hours with one charge. Te be fair this is not very promising.
What are you getting? - 10-14-2010, 05:29 PM #2
I don't get how this isn't promising. You won't use the phone for 20hrs straight light usage. Sure your usage may go up and down during a day, but there will be times when it isn't in use. I don't see how that is bad.

well it is not bad, because I know I can safety have a full day usage, but It is not good as I remember BBs where the battery used to last more than 3 days...

that is because I had a BB like 4 years ago. It used only GPRS and the battery was awesome.

My stats;
Meterberry installed roughly 20 days ago on a 9700
Average discharge rate since then> 0.9% per hour
I run 2 email accounts, BIS and several apps daily. Probably surf the net a total of an hour or so each day. Recharge my battery every three days or so (usually at 40-45%) at least but sometimes daily. - 10-15-2010, 03:15 AM

0.9% makes sense, but we have to consider a 9700 has a 1500 mAHr while the 9300 has a 1150 mAHr battery. This means 30% less so your 0.9% would be something like 1.17%
This night without touching the phone, not sounds it went down to 1.7%. The phone downloaded about 10 emails.
@aria_aradhea I have Wi-Fi and Bluetooth off. I can not switch 3G off because is the only connection offered by my carrier. Without it I have roaming (without charges) but I think BIS does not work... - 10-15-2010, 03:29 AM #9
With the 3G network mode, I reckon I get 18 hours of battery life with BerryWeather updating every 30 minutes, Ubertwitter and T4BB updates every 5 minutes, and BBM and mails... If I stay on GPRS/EDGE, I could get around 24-26 hours of battery life.
I'm now using a 1300mAh extended battery which give me a further -roughly- 1-2 hours of battery life.
Having a smartphone that can last through the day is good enough for me...

I use mine all day for emails, web, etc. and its usually around 30-40% when I put it on the charger at night.
