    So is the application memory on this hardware or software determined? I know overall that it is hardware determined but theoretically could rim or a tech savy coder increase the memory from the 128 through the 1 gig of memory already on the device? I know a fair amount about computers but not a ton. So it's just some curiosity.

    app memory is just a partition of the 1GB of memory on the phone, and it's controlled in the low level programming, prolly BIOS...so it would be a software upgrade, but idk if that'll happen anytime soon, you're prolly stuck with what you have for now, they'll want to offer the increased app memory on new devices to promote sales
