Hello all, I'm on the lookout for a decent free IM app that will work on BB OS 5.0. Mainly looking for live messenger compatibility. The RIM instant messengers aren't compatible at the moment so I'm looking into 3rd party apps. I've encountered web messenger, that doesn't connect. EBuddy doesn't have a download available for blackberry anymore. IM+ and Jivetalk aren't free (and quite frankly, IM+'s price is ridiculous). Any ideas?

My palringo and instango apps don't work anymore on the BB OS 5.0 and i need a new one that works

Wish I could find one. Jive talk rocks, but spending 30 bucks is silly.

Tried Ebuddy and Instango and they seems to have a lot of lag or problems connecting/disconnecting.

Seems like with those free ones, you're using their server or something? Not as transparent or smoothly running as the actual apps, or Jivetalk. Any comments on that?

Palringo!!! Its free and works w/all IM services..It also does PTT and voice messages. Check it out! I don't have a link, but google will give it to you. Pretty nice for free!!

Aver, try looking for the unreleased beta instango 2.2.86. it works on BB OS 5.0 it works swell on my 8900. try searching the forums for the OTA/alx link

The only problem I'm having is I can't find one that notifies you with the led when you get a message. Does anyone know of a free chat app that alerts you with the led?

Will yahoo messanger not work on the os it has the LED notification. (Or am I just way behind and using a lame messanger?)
