I have NO ideas. Same thing has happened to me. Got my 8900 on Tues and Google maps work fine but I get no response from Live Search. Hopefully somebody out there can help.

I haven't tried to install it (yet), but I know with my 9000, I had the same problem. I read on the somewhere on the forums that Live Search isn't playing nice with the 4.6 firmware.
It works on pre 4.6.1.1** firmware like 4.6.1.76 or 4.6.1.94, but then the battery won't last quite as long. I hope MS fixes this soon, I feel deprived..
They need to either update it or kill it. I had issues getting it to work on the Bold as well.
I wouldn't even want it if it were not for it's ability to save search results directly to the address book. Why doesn't google maps allow this? It is the only saving grace for the otherwise ugly and finicky Live Maps program.
I just downloaded it on .174 - same thing won't open. Too bad. I liked it on WinMo - a bit more features all-in one. I guess Poynt and Google Maps for now.
It works!!! Finally, I went on there to check it out, and seems they got a newer version out. I downloaded it, clicked on the icon, and it actually loads up now!
NEW Live Search build is out, they added support for older
OS builds, I am on .114 right now as I am awaiting my replacement today and it works on here as well. They added the Movies and Web functions to it - it is growing to similar specs of its WinMo counterpart.
