OMG! It worked!
I have been having serious withdrawals ever since I had to go from my 9700 to 9900. I was even contemplating resorting to reading on my laptop!
Would it be terribly weird to say... I think I love you? ;)
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
yeah agree. I had kindle on my 9000. was ok, but not for long. and it di not navigate very well. tablet makes mor sense. it worked like crap on my torch, and the screen on the 9900 not worht the trouble.

Just an update and FYI -- Within 4 days of using link and downloading app, I couldn't find any of NEW books purchased in my Archives. Went to regular computer and Manage my Kindle. None of the new books were listed.
Fast forward to the next day. Logged in to Manage my Kindle and guess what?! Not only were books now there, but (drum roll) the 9900 is now showing up in Device list and it is registered! Sweet!
So, if you haven't yet gone to OP link, try to download app from Amazon like normal first, it might work like it should. Haven't tested.
The Kindle App worked like a charm on my 9930 for several months, after installing it as per the instructions in this thread. Now, I installed a media card and the Kindle app does not work. It gets stuck either in the splash screen or (more recently) in the message at the bottom indicating that the device is synchronizing. The media card had some issues and I had to reformat it fom the PC. Still, no Kindle app.
I would appreciate any suggestions. I have gotten really attached to this app; it is so convenient!
Thanks.
Good day All,
I followed the instructions and got loaded on my Bold 9900 - App comes up as described.
As I did not have an account with Amazon prior to installing - I created the account on amazon.com - US website and the Bold shows up as the device in the device settings.
Now - As I am in Canada and my Billing address is in Canada, I can't use amazon.com and I suspect I need to use amazon.ca
How do I get this changed so the Bold will be recognized in Canada, do I dlete the US account and create a new canadian acount - Will I need to remove the app and reinstall?
Any advice appreciated.
Create the amazon.ca account. You can sign out in the Kindle app. From the home screen in Kindle, hit the menu button and go to info. You can then signout and then sign back in with the correct account.
Just wanna say THANKS!!!! I followed the procedure once but I did not login in Kindle account, so subsequent accesses just hung at the splashscreen. So I re-read your post, re-did correctly and BANG! it works like a charm on my 9900
THUMBS UP!
Stefano
I'd copied the .cod from my 9650 onto my 9850 and everything worked with no problems until I switched to a 9930 last week (love that BB keyboard, found out I couldn't live without it). Needless to say I was upset when the app hung at the splash screen and wouldn't go any further. Discovered this thread, and it worked first time I tried!
THANK YOU!!!!!
Amazon needs to pull their heads out of their (butts) and get a Kindle app ready for BB10!
OK, strange issue - I just went to read.amazon.com or whatever it is and activated my kindle account on my PlayBook. All my books showed up, opened, etc.
But now when I'm at work (on break) and I open the Kindle app on my 9930, all the books are doubled. Two entries for each book. If I go to amazon.com & manage my Kindle, deleting the books, only one disappears from the 9930, not both. I've tried rebooting.
I just switched from a 9550 to a company issued 9930 and I can't seem to get this to work. My guess is it might have something to do with the enterprise protocols. I downloaded the app without any problem. Like everyone else, when I launch the app it sits at that initial screen. However, when I plug it into the USB port, I only get two options: Sync Media and Charge Only. No neither seem to work.
Any ideas?
Plug it in when Kindle is stuck on splash screen. Select any option. Unplug... Then re-open Kindle.

I followed the OP's instructions, but as soon as I start the app, I get the following message: "Application Permissions Request: Kindle is requesting permission to use the following resources: Connectivity" Then, when I check the box and hit "save," it jumps to another screen with a message: "Please grant all requested permissions in order to use Kindle for BlackBerry." There are two options: Edit permissions and Exit. Pressing Edit permissions brings me back to the original "Applications Permissions Request" page, resulting in a continuous loop (and "Exit" exits the app). I tried re-downloading the app and changing all the permissions to allow that I could, but the same thing happens.
Any thoughts? I really liked reading my Kindle books on by old BB.
Uninstall and make sure there is no Kindle folder on memory card. Reboot, then reinstall. Same error or stuck on splash screen?

I tried it, but I get the same error message. There was no Kindle folder on the memory card. However, there was an audiobooks folder. I deleted that using my computer, though I noticed that it was still there when I checked "files" on the BB itself. I could not find any option to delete it once the BB was unplugged from the computer.
Why the bookmark sync was not working on my bb device and iso device? I'm sure they are the same files, any help. Thanks
Kindle now works on my Blackberry Bold. Great Advice.
@ljcn: do you know if i can change the text in the kindle app? I prefer to read with a black background and white/green/orange text. Any ideas?
so after one logs in .. and they click on a book to download how is is being paid for as it is being downloaded and does it take a long time to downlad book to homescreen so far its been 10 minutes in dowload .. I did the one click purchase ?
Thanks a lot for this very helpful tip! This is my first Blackberry and I was deeply disappointed that the Kobo app from the market doesn't work. Your tip means I don't have to return the phone, which I was on the brink of doing.
Great stuff - followed the recipe and it works! Already have the Kindle app working on my Android tablet - now have to see whether I can persuade it to work on my netbook running Linux Mint Debien Edition...
Thanks again.

I'm still running 7.0. If I upgrade, will it affect kindle? Will I have to go through this again?
Thank you so much, this worked perfectly!
Thanks again - it worked on my first new 9930 Bold from the company. Then, today, when my IT guy replaced it (because the E key was stuck) with another, he moved all my apps and pics over, and Kindle would start but would not let me open my books. ("Invalid book.") So while on Kindle on the BB, I re-archived the two books in Home, did the USB thing, signed out of my Kindle account, signed back in to my Kindle account, re-downloaded the books, and good to go. Great !!! If only everything had such a simple hack.
thanks so much for the link! I downloaded the app, rebooted my bb 9900, and whalah! I did not have to connect to my PC. Thanks again. Mimi
