Sorry for the all caps in the title, but I'm extremely frustrated at this point. Has anyone noticed the newest version of OM 4.2? It almost seems like its trying to emulate a trackball version of ON. Once I transferred all of my stuff from my Storm 1, OM was working just as it normally would. But once I did an OS update and re downloaded OM again a new screen setup showed up. Follow the link below to see what I'm talking about. I desperately want to go back to the old style. I've tried old cods...I've deleted and redownloaded...any other suggestions?

I am loving the new 5.2 beta on .428. Am I missing something that 4.2 is better?

The issue for me with 5.0 Beta is the crappy scrolling. I like to use some pretty big web pages and getting around just takes forever. Wears out my thumb.

For now I'm sticking with 4.2. Once they fix the scrolling, I'll be all over it.

The UI is easier and quicker to use in 4.2 for non touch devices (IMO).

It is not a NEW 4.2, for some reason it just looks that way with .428 OS.

I updated my phone and kept all my stuff, never deleted or reloaded my apps and it changed after the update. I made a thread on it asking why it was different but didnt get any hits. I HATE the 4.2 on .428, it sticks between pages, the bottom keys dont work, and the menu sucks balls.

Exactly...I think for some reason on .428 OM downloads the non touch version...I think reloading .320 then doing a back up and restore will work because when I first loaded .428 and restored the back up it was fine... We'll see and I'll post my results.

I have the same prob on a non-touch BB. It isn't anything to do with a reload of OM.
I updated my 8900 from 4.6.1.250 to 5.0.0.411. I backed up and restored all apps.
I didn't re-install OM - the same app that I had on .250 looks completely different and is almost unusable on .411

I'm rolling back for an insurance swap next couple of days. We'll see what happens then eh?

Okay, the Opera Mini problem is definitely with .428, I reloaded .320 and re-downloaded 4.2 and it's back to normal!! I'm going to keep .320 for a day and see if my battery life is any better, the battery life has been horrible with .428.

My assumption is that with when you go to download Opera Mini .428 that it downloads the non-touch screen version for whatever reason. That's only my assumption though, I could be completely wrong!!

It only changes the appearance/button positions and uses (lol) I assume it's set up to "display" differently on different (non BB)phones/OS's.

I think that is not the case. I have a non touch BB and have the same issue. Looks fine in 4.6.1.250, looks different and is useless in 5.0.0.411.
Same app on device, just back-up of 3rd party apps (no rei"oad of OM)...
