less then that if you calculate the OS installed as well..

but think about it, BB apps arent HUGE like iPhone apps that are a couple megs, the largest BB app i have seen was 1.4MBs

and with all my apps and such installed, i have about 125MBs free

Actually I just upgraded from a 8830 that I've loved for yrs because of app sizes increasing to 3+megs now. At least the msging apps like bb messenger, windows live etc. They used to be less than 400k when I 1st got it. Also I appear to have about 133megs free memory with pretty much all the standard stuff installed and wlm. I removed tasks and docs2go I think. That's it

Um...256mb is a LOT (well, whatever we have after OS) . If you manage to fill that up, post back with a screen and the list of apps.

90mb, after 3 upgrades of BBM that gobble up 3mb apiece. Grr. It doesn't feel like I have very many apps installed @ all. I wish I knew how to use my memory more wisely, but this is my first device.

People, don't complain about having low app memory, because the 9700 has TONS of app memory.

If you happen to completely fill it up, or make your phone unusable by not having enough memory, then complain.

The BBM upgrades should REPLACE the existing BBM install. There will obviously be variances from the upgrades but the program won't take up 9MB. It should be between 2-3MB total after upgrades.

    I am at: 134MB

    Programs:
    AutoStandby
    BBLight
    BeeJive
    BerryBuzz
    BerryWeather
    Call Blocker Pro
    Chronograph
    4-Custom themes
    Google Maps
    I love BlackBerry
    Docs ToGo
    MeterBerry
    QuickLaunch
    QuickPull Pro

Oh yea and I have over 1500 email messages on this thing!

OK, can someone with how the BB OS works explain that to me? Nelimungous has more apps installed than me, yet almost 30MB more. How does that work?
