How do I make Google Maps my default maps app?

How do I make Google Maps my default maps app? I searched and found nothing.

If it can be done - try this.

Options>advanced options>maps. If you can this is place to change the default mapping option

It can't be done, unfortunately.

Wait for the 5.0 OS, it's supposed to be an option then.

I downloaded google maps, and placed the maps that came with the phone in the applications folder. Now, when I go to a contact and hit the menu button (provided it's someone who's address is listed) it says show their location using google maps instead of map app. that came with the phone. I also downloaded Google Maps over the air by using the BB Tour's web Browser, by googling it. Hope this helps.

i just open up google maps when i need to use gps and hid blackberry maps. that way it technically is the "default"

tried it with 5.0.0.230 and Google Maps isn't in the list of Maps to choose from...

any luck anyone?

I just did this and it works perfectly.

yup...this works on my bold (4.6 OS). I deleted BB Maps just going thru Options>Advanced Options>Applications

Phone rebooted, but "Maps" does not appear under the Advanced Options list anymore. I moved Google Maps to the Applications folder.

However, if you click on a contact, you can Show on Google Maps.

I uninstalled BB Maps and left Google maps on. Choose a contact, Show on Google Maps, Get Directions, Start Point = My Location, End Point = Choose End Point, most recent place = contact you started with, choose, Get Directions. Much better than BB Maps
