    Hi

What a great feature of this site, that comes up with similar threads before you bother to start one!

So... shorter question than I thought I'd ask... Is TrekBuddy appropriate for Australia &/or what are any others that may be??

    Thanks muchly in advance!

Well, what those suggestions did not do is help you place this in the gps subforum but a moderator will move it. Trekbuddy requires you to provide your own maps by finding them online, downloading and then loading to your BB. It does NOT provide turn-by-turn unless things have changed since I last used it a few years back.

The other os MobileGmaps (not google) which has similar needs - download in advance what maps/areas and get them to the phone.

All GPS based applications require a BES/BIS plan and GPS signal.

The download the map/route to your phone and load the correct picture via the GPS signal's mapping.... it doesn't work like a typical hiking GPS.
