Good to know seeing as I've been running on 4.4.0 all this time! LOL!

so what was wrong with 4.5.1?
have been waiting this upgrade since the last google map release primarily directed at android. i actually downloaded and have been running 4.5.1 with no issue since before it disappeared. though i'd check regularly, refused to go (back) to 4.4.
never noted any bugs with 4.5.1 and 4.5.2, so far, seems no different. am curious as to what were the issues with 4.5.1. as for the on screen zoom in/out for torch, that was included in 4.5.1. - 01-19-2011, 04:45 PM #8
Ugggh! It's exhibiting the same problem I had with it in 4.5.1!
The My Location popup bubble thing doesn't disappear!
Just took it for a ride and the thing wouldn't dismiss!Last edited by stardomains; 01-19-2011 at 07:32 PM.

I don't understand why there still isn't a gfeature to turn off highways/ toll roads and stuff like that... I was really hoping for that to be in this release but I guess I remain dissapointed...

I just installed and when I try to close the app it won't. I hit cancel and it doesn't do anything. Is anyone else having this problem? I have rebooted 3 times.

I have noticed that this version as compared to 4.4, which I previously had, renders pages soooo much faster. Also GPS lock is instantaneous. I like these two boosts enormously!
Every time I think about a hot model with a pink curve I end up with blue bolds!!!!
There is a higher probability that something is wrong with you and NOT your new 9700!!! The sooner you accept that reality, the happier you will be. - 01-20-2011, 06:35 AM #21
Does this fix the weird 3G gps/location finding? I have a bold 9700 now and I have to turn 3G off in order for the towers to triangulate my location. I never had an issue when I had my curve 8310. Any suggestions for me? I do think it is the best besides that issue.

I haven't played with it much since the update, but I've noticed mine is much faster in finding my location, as well as overall performance of the app.

Guys it's not "finding your location" faster, rather it is using your wifi mac address to approximate where you are until the GPS kicks in.
Sky hook is nasty, nasty stuff--just search for it and you'll see why.

I changed my router's mac address, then logged into google maps, and suddenly I was thousands of miles away in another state! That lasted for a few months until they updated their database again so I'll be changing it again soon.
As a test for yourself, disable your BB wifi and then open google maps. You will see the normal cell tower triangulation method, then the GPS lock eventually. - 01-20-2011, 09:17 AM #24
Perhaps it's my device (9550 storm2) but it only works in compatibility mode
(which it loads as default).. I just went to m.google.com/maps to download, I'll need to check if there is a device specific download but otherwise none of the select gestures work (layers, directions etc) makes it fairly useless..
