Does anyone know if when using google maps to locate addresses and such does the phone use data from at&t's data service? The reason I ask is that I am grandfathered in my contract so I do not have to have a data plan on my 8310 so I am wanting to remove it. I loathe the internet service from the curve 8310 and the only thing I use anymore is BBM and google maps. I know BBM uses data but an unlimited text plan will sub for that, but if google maps uses data then that will kinda blow.

Well shiznit. That stinks. The data plan for $30 is so overpriced. The internet thru the 8310 is horrible for that cost. Guess I'll just have to go back to good ole desktop internet.
