- Hey everyone,
i did some searching for a remote desktop like app and did come across RDM+.
have a few questions.
1) does rdm+ work well on the tour?
2) is there an equally good option for free? (logmein, copernic, etc.)
3) if so does it work well on the tour?
Thanks.
EDIT: Sorry too tired at the moment and forgot the question mark.Last edited by lastelement0; 07-31-09 at 09:15 AM.

There are a couple of remote desktop apps. RDM+ is the most commong one. I don't know of any free versions.07-31-09 08:58 AMLike 0 - Just got RDM+ in yesterday's deal-of-the-day. For what it does, I like it a lot. Keep in mind a program like this isn't for streaming your audio or video to you, but seeing your entire desktop with full access. That brings with it a moderate bit of lag in terms of the screen refresh.
So yeah, RDM+ works, and works well, on the Tour. If you want to try to research something free, what you are looking for is a VNC program. You'll need to install a VNC server on the computer(s) you want to access (I use TightVNC). Then you'll need to research to see if you can find free VNC viewer for BlackBerry -- I've no idea if any exist or not.
VNC probably will not get through any corporate firewalls, and might require port forwarding or some settings on a home router to work. RDM+ does seem to get by all these restrictions no problem.
Basically you get what you pay for... RDM+ takes a lot of the work out of the setup. VNC would be just about as good, albeit with a little more work to set up, and maybe a tiny bit slower than what RDM+ is. At full price, RDM+ is pretty steep, I wouldn't have purchased it if it wasn't the deal of the day.08-01-09 07:37 AMLike 0
