Has anyone been able to make an app that actually uses the flash as a flashlight. I played with the flash during a video record and that would be awesome.

no...something about rim wont let coders use it....idk how they can make them not be able to use it but thats what everyone says so the answer is no. some people just say to leave the light to "always on" on the video camera and save the video camera as either the left or right convenience keys and when ever you need the light just use it like that
