Some guys say it is impossible to use official facebook app without data paln.. but nothing is impossible in crackberry..... we can use facebook app without BIS/BES... (only facebook 1.6, no other versions have this feature)
facebook 1.6 runs only on os 4.5 or later devices

I have Facebook 2.0.0.58 on my 9700 with no data plan. Works just like it should on WIFI.. so does every other app. Same on. My dad's 9360. We both don't have data plans.

I've never used Facebook on my Torch using only wifi for more than a few minutes, so I'm not sure what's happening with the error you get. Sorry!

i dont use it for hours i just open my facebook to check it then i shut the app and i turn off the wifi then after couple of hours i open my wifi and open my facebook app then i get upgrade your data plan error i just use the app four 1 or 2 minutes

Is your data box unchecked in Manage Connections? Just a thought.

did you do anything to the permissions of the facebook application so it could only use wifi and what version are you at

i thinnk, some service providers let you to run without plan, I (i mean in their service message may be doesn't add any facebook contrling programmes), before i it was working here fine in allmost all model,

I dont think it has to do with the service providers cuz people say that the facebook app works on wifi it works fine for me for like about less than half a day on wifi but then it gives me the connect to the wireless provider error
