You can also see news feeds and other feeds just like if you were viewing it on your computer.

Not sure how to view comments on status updates in this version. Not a great deal different to 1.6 as far as I can tell. Does a funny thing in that I had to switch to Blackberry browser from Hotspot to download, and I assume push notifications.

Feels a little faster/snappier to me. Certainly loads profiles/pictures quicker.

I find v.1.7 to be a MAJOR improvement over the previous version. The news feed tab updates quickly as well as you can separately view photo updates and status updates. Finally, you have the option to 'like' on posts, and view a caption of 'youtube' postings and links from statuses which you couldn't do before just the link posted.

I can handle all my fb needs with this app from my phone, which I couldn't do before so I doubt I'll be checking from the cpu more than 2x a week.

I'm running it on .230 and it is a HUGE improvement over previous version. Loads very quickly and runs a lot better.

Maybe its optimized for 5.0 but there is a big difference in performance.

I'm new to the BB world but in the past 3 weeks I've had my tour, I've noticed that sometimes - actually, about 1/2 - 3/4 of the time - when I try to comment on a friends' status or write on a wall, it says "user not available", "user not visible" or "cannot use this feature" or some B.S. like that... and then in my message box the attempted comment has a red x for FAIL.

What does that even mean? Why does it matter if the user is "available" or not, doesn't the app run through the server?

(I just upgraded to 1.7 and it still hasn't been fixed).

I think this version changes the way it stores some memory on your phone so you need to reload your friends list... just go to your list of friends and leave it there until it downloads your entire friends list

HI, I just got a blackberry curve 8320 a few days ago and tried loading facebook 1.7 onto my BB. Now that it's on my phone I try to login to FB and can't because, "a data service is not available". Any suggestions on what I should do? Thanks

I like ver 1.6 better. This new one takes forever to download your friend list & makes everything else slow, the 1.6 never infuenced the performance of other apps even though the friend list was still loading only on 2%. Other than that, writing on a user's wall feels so much slower than the 1.6. Yes the pics, status, & news feed load faster but I'd rather go back to the 1.6. Anyone know how to downgrade to 1.6?
