Facebook just really sucks for blackberry. I want to like it but I mean it is just the same mobile site that everyone gets to use nothing special... At least myspace has its own experience for bb..

FB mobile is good enough to just upload photos and have your contacts updated and sync with your address book. thats about all i ever use it for. **** all drama.

Contact sync. big deal. It doesn't bring published phone numbers from FB over to the BB contact list, just pics and some other misscelleanous junk.
fb is a huge disappointment compared to the iphone client
and even worse, there is no like/unlike option in the client, no video uploading, no interactive tag support on pictures, no video support whatsoever, and the interface is way overdue for a refreshing new design...or at least anything that will make it a bit more interesting and less of a hassle to use.
I'm realatively new to FB, and have to say that I like the FB 1.5 BB app, and am looking into the improvements listed in 1.6. I don't want, or need, every single feature on the PC site on my BB. Hope 1.6 is released on time.
So do I Mitch, from the moment it was released, I installed it and set it up to not sync with my address book or calendar, just notifications. I realized that people were having issues with the contact and calendar sync. The application works just fine for me, it's extremely fast since I switched my email from Yahoo over to Gmail, Yahoo has too many delays for me. Gmail works the best and the fastest on a BlackBerry in my opinion...

This brings up a question I have. In order to get the FB BB notifications to work, do you have to have the email address you have set up in FB being pushed to your BB via BIS?
I haven't had any problems with 1.5, but I swear that when I removed my FB email account from my BIS account, I stopped getting FB notifications on my device.

Yes, you need the Gmail address pushed to your BlackBerry using BIS. Then on a PC go to your Facebook account and under Settings >Notifications, set it up for what you want to be notified of, wall post, someone posts after you, friend request, etc...
Thanks for confirming that. I also unchecked the calendar and contact integration, and chose not to leave notifications on the mail server. Not sure what changing that last option does, I'm assuming that it deletes it once its pushed to my device so I don't end up with a bunch of FB notifications in my Gmail inbox?
everyone criticizes the BB FB app for not having this, but I don't know anyone who uses this on the vaunted Iphone client or even their PC.

i use the chat every now and then, just to check who's online on the app. Of course, gtalk or wlm is much better, but if they have no access to wlm, its a good replacement.
Oh, the chat seems to work from the bolt browser (not 100%) but i managed to type something iirc... (not the mobile version site)
I use facebook chat more than any other IM platform probably...I don't know all of my friends AIM/MSN/GTalk Screen names or whether or not they even have them...But facebook makes it all easy and puts everyone in the same IM client essentially. I would love to have FB chat included on the FB app
I have always upgraded when there was a new release of the facebook app, but i have to say that honestly im not that impressed... I do look forward to this new release though, I hear there are significant changes made.
