    Default Facebook Messenger won't update or respond

    Hey so I have a 9700 and I've had the fb messenger for a while now and recently it hasn't been responding. I've tried taking the battery out. I cant see this App in the App store or in "My World" so I cant uninstall and re-install it either. Facebook chat works fine on my computer so its not a problem with facebook. Has this App been taken down or is it something else?

    same problem! You can uninstall/dl if you just google "Facebook Messenger", but I tried that and it didn't change anything.

    So if other people are having problem im guessing its a problem with the app itself. Oh well hopefully time can fix it

    I didn't get FB Messenger from AppWorld. I just typed it in on My phones Google search and it was there.

    Haven't had any problems with FB messenger on my phone. I've had it insalled for a while and for the past week still get notifications and messages on it.

    really?^^ hrm. Mine just keeps updating, and then flashes a "updating failed" sign, and then just forever keeps updating...

    I would suggest bring you os upto th latest version then trying it.

    I'm guessing you've already attempted a battery pull after uninstalling.

    I'm running on version 1.1.218 and I usually check for updates but says I have the latest version. I searched online and read some articles saying there's a version 1.5 for BB. Could it because of my unit and running on OS5, what version does everyone else have?

    I currently have 1.1.218 on my 9320 (os7) no issues.

    Checked the update button and not update available. Do you have link to the version on AppWorld as I cannot seem to see it?

    Villordsutch, sorry I don't have a link via App World and searching for it shows me no results. I got mine from the FB website too.

    Doesn't FB for BlackBerry now have chat built in? I know mine does, works rather well too.

    yes it does, but i find messenger a more viable alternative. Also, still having problems....uninstalled, deleted cache, logged in/out, etc...

    you can clear cache and it works for a bit but goes back to doing the same thing agian

    Hey I'm using curve 9380. In starting messenger was working fine but today it is not responding saying no message when refreshing it then it is saying connection error. I even reinstalled it still nothing happened. Please help me !

    That happened and still happening to my phone, I have a bb curve 9300... But what's weird is, whenever I logged out from fb app (the latest version) fb messenger works fine.

    I am not sure if the problem is really with the fb messenger or the fb app. The messenger worked fine just before I upgraded the fb app. So there..
