I just activated a new 8330 today from verizon. When i activated it there is a facebook icon on the homescreen and when i click it, it takes me to the download site for the facebook app via the browser. I can't find anything to delete in the applications list. Also, I tried to download the facebook app and then delete it, but once i did that the icon that took me to the website came back.

Alot of icons come preloaded via the service books from your provider. Since service books are resent by the provider at their will and will reset any service books you delete, easiest option is to hide any icons you don't want. Most are just links anyway so they don't take up much memory like an installed program will.

Oh, another option some people choose is to make a new folder and stick all those icons in it instead of hiding them. Personal preference, a great thing about your new blackberry . . . personalization based on your preference!
