Default Facebook Application - Caller ID feature

    Hey guys and girls,

I just got my blackberry tour today and downloaded the facebook app

It mentions that it has caller ID that is linked up to my facebook, I already went ahead and confirmed the setting in facebook>options and that is checked, but I have called a few of my friends and no picture comes up for them

(name is exactly the same as it is in my address book as it is on facebook)

any way to correct this or is it just a setting on their facebook that does not allow me to see their caller ID picture

    Thanks,

    Dave

I don't have enough posts yet to post links, but...

Go to the Facebook page on the Blackberry site (google facebook blackberry, first hit)

Go to getting started in the menu bar, under More Tips, view the User Guide. Choose the trackball one, and go to the Friends section. The third and fourth links from the bottom of that list seem to be about this.

Not sure if that will help, but it's worth a shot...

Make sure you have your friends email address stored as part of the contact. The facebook application scans the emails addresses that are in your phone, and compare them to your facebook friend list. I hope this answered your question.

You need to go into the Facebook app and select the individual contacts you want to link. You must do this for ALL contacts you want to have included. This is different than the webOS approach. Once you link them, they will update as people change their picture.

Do you want me to give a step-by-step? I'd be happy to...

Quite simply, open up the Facebook app, go to the friends list, click on the name of the contact, scroll down to connect to Blackberry Contact, click it. Done.

Yup, it's that easy. Even a little easier when it pulls up the contact automatically for you (sometimes)

if the person has their phone number on their facebook i find that it will usually automatically connect them (if the number you have is the number they put on their facebook of course)

For it to pull automatically, simply open the app, then options, thebn run setup.
