Facebook app - slow
Hi, as much as it may appear I'm trying to start an argument here, I'm not, this is legit :P
I usually use my BB9900 to browse facebook... photo albums etc. It's ridiculously slow.
Tried my ipod touch instead (through the same WiFi network) and photos (especially) are absolute lightning. Access through the BB is utter dogsh*t by comparrison. Am I alone and somehow my BB has an isolated issue, or do I just accept that my MP3 player kicks the crap out of my trusty BB's browsing capabilities ?

I'm not convinced. The phone in general runs fine, we're not talking like a clogged pc which needs a wipe/reload here. It's just the web browsing, and to be honest, I've never thought it was particularly great at it from the start.
If someone posted a video of their 9900 browsing a heavy site, or (better) using the facebook app to browse images, that'd be awesome. At the moment I'll remain sceptical I'm afraid, as to be honest, if someone started a thread like this one I'd have been inclined to post the same response as yourself. I'm not disbelieving you, I simply suspect we may have different ideas on speed. Possibly.

Hi, thanks for the reply.
I've had the phone for about a year. Started with stock orangeuk software, whatever that was. I've wiped and reloaded stacks of times as I quick enjoy geeking around with my bb. I've used countless leaks from this site, most recently wipe/reloading with my current 7.1.0.746. This was done a matter of weeks ago, when I had a full hardware swap due to a dodgy trackpad.
On each and every one of the builds I've used on this phone, the BB facebook app has behaved the same way, and I've never thought anything of it. Until that is, I used my Ipod touch. As I explained earlier, the difference is absolutely immense on the exact same WiFi connection.
I'm really not trying to be rude, but considering the circumstances and the history I see no advantage to wiping and reloading again. Essentially, what I'm asking is:
My ipod touch appears to absolutely kick the crap out of my 9900 when it comes to using facebook to browse photos. Is this normal, and we just accept that BB's are currently godawful by comparrison, or is is likely I have a error on my handset which seems to survive wiple/reloads.
?
Ta.
Oh, and which software are you using? Official, leak or hybrid? I'm on orange uk ...

If you haven't done so already, try clearing the cache in the FaceBook options.
That works for me when it gets bogged down and it brings all of the data up to date.MY TAKE ON THE BOLD 9900... I DON'T KNOW HOW, OR WHY, BUT IT WORKS!!!
